Mission & Quality Policy

PURPOSE

The purpose of the agency is:

      • To undertake initiatives for the cooperation between the public, social, environmental, cultural, and private sectors for the sustainable development of the shareholders’ area of interest, with priority given to the Regional Units of Aetoloacarnania, Fokida, and Evrytania, as well as the wider geographical areas of the Corinthian Gulf, the Patras Gulf, the Ionian Sea, and the National Park “Messolonghi–Aitoliko Lagoon, the lower course of the rivers Evinos and Acheloos, and the Echinades Islands”.
      • The establishment and operation of a Local Action Group that meets the requirements of European regulations and national legislation for the planning and implementation of Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) programs.
      • The provision of services supporting the purpose, responsibilities, and roles of the shareholders.
      • The provision of services to support and promote partnerships among local public and private law entities, as well as organizations operating in the shareholders’ area of interest.
      • The provision of services to support and promote actions, initiatives, and projects related to local corporate engagement and the creation of social capital.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of local development programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of Community-Led Local Development programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures funded by national and/or European and/or international resources and/or institutions and/or organizations.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures related to entrepreneurship and/or the environment and/or innovation and/or digital convergence and/or the social sector and/or culture and/or any other sector or field of interest to the shareholders.
      • The provision of consulting and technical support services to the private, social, environmental, cultural, public sector, and/or local government.
      • The provision of services for the development of techno-economic and other studies for the private, social, environmental, cultural, public sector, and/or local government.
      • The organization and/or technical support of conferences, forums, exhibitions, fairs, and related events.
      • The provision of education and training services.
      • The development of the company’s reference area, as defined by its shareholders and/or through other partnerships.
      • The organization, management, creation, and/or operation of welfare, education, training, creative activities, and/or social solidarity units or structures.
      • The provision of consultancy services in project and program management and administration.
      • The development of any commercial activity or service deemed appropriate and beneficial.
      • The provision of services to support tourism development, including the establishment or participation in a Destination Management Organization (DMO).
      • The provision of services to support the rural economy and countryside development.
      • The provision of services to support all sectors of the economy (primary, secondary, tertiary) and all branches of economic activity.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures supporting specific sub-regions within the shareholders’ reference area (mountainous communities, rural communities, fishing communities), without excluding any sub-region from the company’s purpose.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures supporting vulnerable and socially sensitive groups.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures for active aging.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures for youth.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures for the exchange of personnel and/or know-how.
      • The development and operation of an innovation hub, and the development and provision of related infrastructure and services.
      • The development, administration, and/or management of incubators.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures for developing partnerships and creating sectoral or cross-sectoral clusters of similar or complementary enterprises and/or organizations, in any area of the economy or society.
      • The provision of services for the design, management, implementation and/or execution of programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures for social innovation.
      • The development of partnerships at local, inter-local, national, transnational, and international levels.
      • The provision of services and the development of initiatives to achieve sustainable development goals in the areas, sectors, and fields of interest to the shareholders.

To achieve its purposes, the agency may:

      • Establish new enterprises, participate in existing ones, or contribute to the creation of new development entities.
      • Hire the necessary scientific, administrative, and auxiliary personnel, enter into project contracts, and employ interns for practical training.
      • Conclude agreements and partnerships with legal and/or natural persons, both domestic and foreign.
      • Purchase, lease, and/or borrow immovable and movable property necessary for its activities and carry out relevant productive investments.
      • Manage public and/or EU funds.
      • Adapt every aspect of its operation to meet the requirements, conditions, and needs of the programs, projects, actions, initiatives, or measures it implements or manages.
      • Take any necessary actions to fulfill its objectives.

The Agency promotes the exchange of know-how and experiences with domestic and foreign entities, broadens the local society’s areas of concern and provides additional development opportunities.

A valuable factor in achieving the Agency’s objectives is its staff. Through coordination and motivation, we exploit every funding possibility and investment plans, within the framework of European or National Programs, towards the benefit of local population.
